Meet Teddy

On January 10th, our little bundle arrived promptly on the day after his due date (so thoughtful!). It’s true what they say, your heart really does double in size, increasing its endless capacity to love another child. Teddy really is the sweetest baby and we are so in love with this little guy! I’m officially outnumbered and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My boys are my whole world and I love seeing our family grow!

January was a blur. The first ten days were spent meal prepping, walking, waiting, and walking some more. I took meetings bouncing on my birth ball - anything to get this labor going! I tried my best to honor the space between “not now” and “not yet,” but DANG those last few weeks of pregnancy are not for the faint of heart, or moms of toddlers!

So here we are, a little over 3 weeks later. 3 weeks was a crucial milestone for me because they say it takes 21 days to form a habit. And while newborns are a far cry from habitual (see what I did there?), I’ve been longing to settle into a new rhythm and routine, now that we are a family of four. My husband and I have been fumbling through bath times, morning feedings, nap times and everything else. Nothing is quite like what is was before - for example, sleep. What I wouldn’t give to hit the sheets and know that 8 solid beautiful hours lie ahead of me. I digress… that being said, babies have this wonderful way of slowing down the pace of life, which I’m trying my best to appreciate. Everything takes a little longer, and that’s okay. All the more time to memorize his face, touch his tiny toes, hold his little hands, breathe him in. It’s times like this I’m so grateful to be able to capture it all through photos - everything is so fleeting! I have to remind myself daily to just be present, find the joy, soak it up.

I’m so grateful for my husband’s help in capturing Teddy’s newborn photos. I want to remember every detail of this season we’re in. If you’re getting the itch for some family photos or have a baby of your own on the way - shoot me a message! I will be opening up my calendar for bookings starting in March! Until then, you can find me wrapped up in bed with my baby OR trying to teach my toddler not to throw things at people’s heads (or some combination of the two).
